General

     AEI staff has had extensive experience the following areas:

Representative Projects:

• Solid waste mgt. facilities: refuse-to-energy incinerators for London Victoria Hospital EFW plant (power and heat); Barbados EFW (power only), Toronto EFW (heat only), and Lameque, N.B.; refuse transfer stations for Metro Toronto Bermondsey, Scarborough; refuse odour control for Metro Toronto Commissioners St,  and for Outaouais PQ; central hazardous waste facility for Ontario;  appraisal of 'Tar  Ponds'  incineration system at Sydney NS; biomedical waste disposal for HCMT; refuse recycling systems; aerobic composting in Morocco and Windsor; anaerobic refuse composting systems  for Regional  Durham (Lasco Steel) and Canada Composting; high-rate ventilation system for Durham Transfer Station & Composting Facility, Pickering.

• Water treatment plants:  Metro Toronto (Clark and Horgan); MOE Lake Huron and Lake Erie; Regional Hamilton-Wentworth; Regional Halton (Oakville); Owen Sound; Port aux Basques; Nfdld, Temagami; Attawapiskat; and Cisadane, Indonesia.

• Water pumping stations: Winnipeg (McLean, McPhillips and Deacon); Metro Toronto (Lawrence to Milliken); Regional Hamilton-Wentworth (5A, 6A and 6B); Regional Ottawa-Carlton (Billings Bridge & Hurdman Bridge); Regional Niagara; Montego Bay (deep well); MOE Grand Bend-to London pipeline (primary and booster stations); MOEE York Water System (overview of all stations); Regional Waterloo Mannheim Res. & PS expansion; Luck Lake, Sask. (irrigation).

• Sewage treatment plants: mechanical process design for Metro Toronto Humber, Winnipeg North End, Sarnia. Ottawa Green Creek, Burlington Skyway, London GPCC, Wyoming, Lethbridge; Value  Engineering task forces for optimising Winnipeg South End and Mid-Halton plants.

• Sewage pumping stations:  London Dingman Creek; Windsor  St  Pauls (stormwater); MOEE York-Durham System (overview of all stations); Bayview (submersible); Aurora (very high head); Ottawa Green Creek (600 kW vari-spd); Metro Toronto Humber (screw pumps), small-community cluster pumping stations for Toronto Islands (grinder-pumps); leachate pumping at Taro Quarry landfill, Stoney Creek; town of New Tecumseth, Tottenham.

• Advanced technology systems: reverse osmosis water treatment in high-Arctic (Petro Canada); iron removal from rural wells (Environ. Can.); small-community shallow-buried water & sewer systems for Rose Blanche Nfdld, Temagami Ont, and Toronto Islands;  water storage tank freeze protection (MOE).
